ba(RACK) the VOTE

So, a few nights ago, Jenny and I decided to spontaneously drive to San Marcos and go to the Barack Obama Rally at Sewell Park. Let me just say, in a nut shell, it was absolutely amazing and life changing...an event in my life that I will definitely never forget. Not to mention the fact that over 13,000 people showed up for the rally, AMAZING.

I volunteered today with the Barack Obama campaign in Round Rock, and will be volunteering for the rest of the weekend as well. I'm so stoked to be a part of this campaign, I can't wait to watch him with the Texas primary on Tuesday :)

If you are registered to vote in Texas, and you didn't vote early in the primary, I HIGHLY recommend you go out on Tuesday and exercise your right to do so :) Unfortunately, I was unable to vote because Colorado does not accept absentee ballots in the primary elections; but I will definitely be voting in the general election in November, and I hope you will be too!

People Are Often Unreasonable by Kent Keith

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may just never be enough;
Give the world the best you have anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it's all between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

Failure? or Opportunity?

"Fail early and get it all over with. If you learn to deal with failure, you can raise teenagers. You can abide in intimate relationships. And you can have a worthwhile career. You learn to breathe again when you embrace failure as a part of life, not as the determining moment of life."

Quote of the Moment

A friend of mine posted this somewhere else and I thought it was perfect. It describes where I am right now with everything in my life and gives me a new way to look at the people and situations I've been confronted with lately.

"I beg you to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don't search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer."

In Memory of Nicole 'Casper' Bingham

Today is the 2 year anniversary. We love you and miss you so much, Casper!

You wil never be forgotten.

This is how I'm feeling...
♥"Carry on our wayward sun, they'll be days when you are done. Lay your weary head to rest, don't you cry no more."
~Kansas (quote from Casper's Facebook page)

♥"Why can't we get all the people together in the world that we really like and then just stay together? I guess that wouldn't work. Someone would leave. Someone always leaves. Then we would have to say good-bye. I hate good-byes. I know what I need. I need more hellos."

♪"Sometimes you just want to put other people's happiness before yours ... because you love them, because they deserve it. Sometimes you want to go out of your way for other people just because you know that it's important that they get a chance to smile once in a while."

♪"Always take comfort in knowing that you are independant enough, that you dont need to rely on anyone else for your own happiness."

♪"So far ive learned that everyday of your life must be lived to the fullest, life is about smiling, laughing, and crying, life is about making the most of what u have and what your given, its about keeping relationships and losing them, life is about falling in love and losing someone you do love, life was given to us as a challenge, and its not easy, but you have to try and meet that challenge and make the most of it while you can because you dont actually know when it will be your turn to lay down to rest, you only have one shot at life, so make sure you take it with both hands and squeeze every little drop out of it you can."

Well said

read a quote this morning and had to share it with you, 'cause it makes sense of what I couldn't put into words.

"that evening, after we have been together for several hours, i realize that our visits are starting to run together in one delicious blur of talking, touching, dozing, and simply existing together in a warm, easy silence like the perfect beach vacation, where the routine is so blissfully uneventful that when you return home and friends ask how your trip was, you can’t really recall what exactly you did to fill up so many hours. that is what being with him is like"

Stages of Happiness

An old Chinese proverb describes the following stages of happiness:

If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap

If you want happiness for a day, go fishing

If you want happiness for a month, get married

If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune

If you want happiness for a lifetime, help others
